“Behind the seams..”
My name is Leah Williams, and I am the owner of The Perfect Fit. I grew up in Knoxville, and currently live in Kingston, TN with my Husband, Stuart and our daughter, Ella.
I began doing bridal alterations in 2008 and it quickly became my passion. When I decided to start my own business, I dreamed of a place where brides could come for one-on-one attention, where they would feel completely catered to. I enjoy getting to know my brides on a personal level, and keep in touch long after the wedding is over!
It is my job to make sure that your dress is everything you ever imagined and that you feel like your best self while wearing it! The fit of your gown is essential to your wedding day, and I promise to work with you until you are completely satisfied and IN LOVE with your dress.
Services & Pricing
Cost of alterations depends on what needs to be done and how the dress is constructed. We have separate price lists for bridal and non-bridal, and careful consideration has been given to determining prices based on how long each task will take. This ensures that you are getting a fair, competitive price and that our seamstresses are also being paid fairly for their time.
To give an exact quote, we need to see you in your dress. However, it may help you budget accordingly to know that our average bride spends about $450.
Here are a few starting prices for the most common bridal alterations:
Adding a corset back- $150
Resizing bodice- $55+
Resizing skirt- $60+
Creating custom straps- $40+
We are often asked when people need to start the alterations process. This, of course, varies depending on each person’s circumstances, but typically we want to do the first fitting about 8-10 weeks before the event. We work on a 4-5 week turnaround, so this leaves us plenty of time for additional fittings.
We tend to book up about 4-6 weeks in advance, and even further for our evening appointments. This means we would like you to reach out for an appointment about 3-4 MONTHS before your event date. We want to be able to provide you with a date and time that works best for you, and that means getting started early!
